Statement of Purpose

"Cowboy Poets of Idaho" was organized in 1988 as a Not-For-Profit corporation open to anyone who has an interest in cowboy poetry and western music. It is to serve as a vehicle to perpetuate and preserve the folk art of poets and musicians. Stated purposes are to present a collective voice for cowboy poets, present traditional cowboy poetry as an art form, establish a registry, assist in cowboy poetry forums, seek to uphold quality performance and work with young people to encourage them to write poetry and music.

MEMBERSHIP

Open to anyone interested in cowboy poetry or music for the payment of annual dues. Dues run from annual meeting to annual meeting. New members who paid in the last quarter will have next years dues paid. Youth membership, 18 years and under, will be one-half of Adult membership. Group membership such as music duets can join for one membership. Groups larger than two will pay memberships for each two members or fraction thereof.
